Swear-in Ceremony: CASA Volunteers Class of Summer 2024

Wayne County CASA Swear-In

Congratulations to our 2024 Summer Class of CASA volunteers! We celebrate their commitment to serving children in Wayne County who need an advocate.

Children in foster care face constant instability as routines and familiarity are frequently interrupted. More often than not, switching foster homes also means switching schools. These upheavals not only negatively impact their academic progress but also sever vital connections with friends, teachers and mentors. That is where Wayne County CASA volunteers come in! Our dedicated mentors are consistent caring adults that use their voice to speak up for their CASA child(ren)’s needs.

“When children go into foster care, they do not go in for a happy reason…. everyone needs a champion some time in life. This is a calling you have responded to, and we are all grateful.”

-The Honorable Timothy Kenny, Wayne County CASA Board of Directors & Retired Chief Judge, Third Circuit Court

A very special thank you to the Honorable Sheila Ann Gibson who presided over the swear in. We would also like to thank our board members, court partners, community members and family and friends who joined us.
